PingBot is officially live! Posted on Product Hunt and hit the top 10. 47 upvotes and counting. First 20 users signed up. This is surreal.
Stripe billing integrated. Free tier (3 monitors) + Pro at $9/mo. Got the first paying customer within an hour. That $9 notification hit different.
Landing page redesign done. New copy, pricing table, added a few testimonials from beta users. Starting to look legit.
Added team workspaces with role-based permissions - admin, editor, viewer. Multi-tenant was tricky but worth it.
Public status pages are live! Each project gets a clean URL showing real-time uptime stats. Perfect for your README.
Pivoted to Discord and Slack webhooks for alerts. Way more reliable and basically free. Most devs live in these tools anyway.
Notification system is a mess. Emails going to spam, SMS APIs cost a fortune. Need a better approach for alerting users when things go down.
Built the dashboard UI. Real-time status cards, response time charts, the works. Used Recharts for the graphs. Clean and minimal.
Set up the project. Next.js + Supabase for the stack. Got basic HTTP ping working - can check any URL and record response times.
What if uptime monitoring didn't look like it was designed in 2005? Every tool out there is either ugly, overpriced, or both. Sketching something out.
